Who we are

Over the Rope is operated by Mark and Michelle Tweed, trading as Over the Rope. We are jointly responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can contact either of us at info@overtherope.com or write to 37 Spalding Way, Chelmsford, CM2 7NZ, United Kingdom.

We help visitors find cricket equipment and compare retailer prices and availability. We do not currently sell products directly, take payments or fulfil orders. Purchases take place on retailers’ websites, where their own privacy policies and terms apply.

Information we collect

We collect information you choose to provide, including your email address when subscribing to our newsletter or requesting a product availability alert, and your name and message when contacting us. Alert requests may include the product, size, handedness and other options you select. You can browse and use our stock finder without providing your name or email address.

Our website and service providers may also process search details, pages visited, retailer links selected, IP addresses, device and browser information, cookies and similar identifiers. Optional analytics storage is subject to your privacy choices.

How and why we use information

  • To operate the website, answer enquiries and manage requested availability alerts.
  • To send cricket kit updates, product news and offers when you subscribe to our newsletter.

Newsletters and availability alerts

Newsletter subscriptions and product alerts are separate choices. Requesting an availability alert does not subscribe you to our newsletter. Alerts relate to the product and options you requested; we cannot guarantee that stock will become available or that an alert will be sent.

You can unsubscribe from newsletters using the unsubscribe link in our emails, or contact us. To cancel an availability alert or withdraw your consent, email info@overtherope.com. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before you withdrew consent.

Service providers and sharing

We use Shopify to host our website and manage website forms and subscriptions, and Google services to support search requests and business communications. These providers process information needed to provide their services. We may also share information when required by law or to protect legal rights. We do not sell your email address or share your contact details with retailers simply because you use our stock finder.

Shopify collects and processes information about your access to and use of our website to provide and improve its services. Where Shopify enhanced features are used, Shopify may also process information about interactions with our website, other merchants and Shopify for its own purposes, and is responsible for that processing. Retailer links and affiliate relationships

Our website links to independent retailers. Some links may earn us commission if you make a qualifying purchase. Retailers and affiliate services may process referral information or use cookies under their own policies and applicable consent requirements. Please check their privacy notices when visiting their websites.

Cookies and privacy choices

Essential cookies and similar technologies support website operation and security. Where required, we ask for consent before using optional analytics or advertising technologies. You can review available cookie preferences and change your browser settings. Rejecting optional cookies does not prevent you from browsing our product comparisons.

How long we keep information

We keep information only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected, taking account of active subscriptions and alert requests, unresolved enquiries, security needs and legal obligations. When it is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. We may retain a limited record of an unsubscribe request to ensure we respect your choice.

Children

Our website includes junior cricket equipment, but our newsletter and alert forms are intended for adults. Parents and guardians should submit requests on behalf of children. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information that should be removed.
